We’re best friends.
"I love playing someone who has so much integrity, who has so much joy and so much life—even though her life is now in prison. She’s locked up, but she’s able to build up joy anyway."

I have been horrible about my tumblr upkeep and that needs to change.
So here’s what I did this summer:
Taught violin and started teaching viola
Moved in with Ian
Adopted a cat named Lux who we take on walks
Was a bridesmaid for the first time ever
Played my violin
Quit Dragon Swim School
Here’s what I’m doing now:
Taking piano lessons so I can finally get my damn degrees
Playing in orchestra
Taking my cat on walks
Joining a book club and actually going to go to the meetings
And I got a new job at Michaels, which I will begin on Friday
That’s where I’m at. Yay.
We are playing Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony in orchestra. Which is very exciting for me because I’ve never played it. Tonight we sight read it and there was a grand pause, everyone stopped except one girl who stopped a little late. There was an awkward pause and then “noooooo” from the girl. I love orchestra.
“I’m a painter, but I also do nude modelling for life drawings and anatomy classes. Every time I model somewhere, the professors tell me ‘We want you back.’ They love me because when I’m on the stand, I put on a demeanor: I want them to see not just the body, but also the movements of the body, the shadows—all that.”
“Do you feel self-conscious at any time when you’re nude?”
“No. I was in art school myself, so I was exposed to that environment. But sometimes I get self-conscious on the street: Everywhere I go, people come up to me and ask, ‘What do you do? Are you a dancer? You’re not walking, you’re breezing and gliding.’ I’m not a dancer, but when I’m walking, I’m dancing.”
I realize I’ve been neglecting my tumblr. Here is a picture of my cat in a basket.
